Menlo College
Menlo College has been with Notifii for 3 years, and over that time, they’ve logged 32,665 packages!

Problem
The College’s Director of Security and Postal Services Rick Edge runs a small college mailroom serving a student body of about 500 and 1000 students depending on the time, plus the resident staff and faculty. When he started out, the number of packages passing through his office was manageable…until online shopping started booming.
Rick Edge previously used a manual package management system, which was proving to be problematic. Mails and packages for staff members who didn’t live on campus would be delivered to their offices. Campus residents had box numbers, and when the mail arrived, it would be put on the shelves with the corresponding number. When a resident came to collect their package, Edge and his team would just look for the shelves’ box number and get it.
“Finding a system to track, monitor, and organize our packages was a huge task and I just never dreamed of the possibility of a system like Notifii that could solve our problems,” Edge stated.

The Solution
There were incidents in the mailroom that made Mr. Edge reconsider the current management system. People would receive notifications that their items had been delivered, only to go to the mailroom and find that the package hadn’t been logged yet. The mailroom staff would then have to manually go through the packages. Since there was no way of telling if and when a package had been delivered, people would automatically assume the mailroom attendees had lost it.
“All I know is that I was extremely happy to find Notifii and see what they can do, and it worked very well for me.”
People rarely entertain the thought of their packages being lost in the mail, so Menlo College mailroom needed a system that could help with record-keeping and management, and so the email function on Notifii has also been a huge help to Rick Edge and his team. With Notifii, the recipients not only get an email notification from the carrier when their package gets to the post office, but also one from the mailroom once it is collected and processed. If the recipient still does not pick the package, another email was sent to them from the mailroom some days later. This function means that the package collection process is a lot faster, and that the inventory of uncollected packages has gone down, helping the mailroom a great deal in not having to store these uncollected packages.

“”More people are shopping online so there are more packages coming in here. And so finding a system to track and monitor and organize our packages was huge. I just never dreamed that there were all these possibilities in a system that we get from Notifii.””

Results
Tracking information through Notifii Track helps the mailroom keep a history of the packages delivered. This not only helps them keep track of the packages as they come and go but also boosts the student’s and faculty’s faith in the system as the mailroom serves them.
“We have had people that would get an email from the platform they ordered from like Amazon or a store, and it says the package was delivered. They come to me because the company said it was delivered yet they can’t find it,” he explains.” Notifii helps me research if the package arrived and when it did.”
